Power for the Dometic PLB40 is provided by integrated lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery cells. Designed for use in the toughest outdoor conditions, its rugged design keeps your gear loaded and ready to go even on the toughest expeditions. The PLB40 has a low weight and features an ergonomically designed stainless steel handle that makes it easy to carry. In addition, an integrated DC-DC charger offers three user-friendly ways of charging: via the 12-volt connection of the vehicle, a solar panel or mains voltage. The easy-to-use, integrated LCD display provides important performance information, including battery capacity, charge/discharge status and power status.

IP stands for Ingress Protection, or protection against the ingress of solid and liquid particles into a product. An IP44 rating verifies that the product has been tested and proven that the product is effectively protected against solid objects larger than 1 mm such as tools and small wires, as well as against splashing water from any angle. The battery’s integrated battery management system protects the PLB40 from undervoltage, overvoltage, short circuit and overheating for optimum charging time, performance and storage. With this Power Management System, the Dometic PLB40 has a lifespan that is up to five times longer than the most common lead-acid batteries.
